Darryle Bass - Folk Artist
Art has been my first love ever since I can remember. As a small child, I was lucky enough to take classes at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Upon visiting New Mexico for the first time in early 2002, I was introduced to Storytellers, Southwest Art, and Polymer Clay.
Moving here in 2005, I took classes from artists such as Robert Rivera (Gourd Art), Tory Hughes (Polymer Clay and Doll Maker (Kate Church), soon combined my extensive background as a display designer and my newly learned skills, to develop a style that I call South West Folk Art.
My one-of-a-kind figures take on their own personality as they evolve. I enjoy watching people smile when they see them. βArt should make you happy and the right piece will speak to you.β
